Totally the only time I would not disclose the fact that I am gay is when I feel I am may be in danger. Other then that I do not hide the fact that I am gay. Now don't get me wrong I don't go around telling every person I meet that I am gay but if somebody asks I don't pretend I am not. I don't think that many people would guess that I am gay and often when people find out they are surprised. But when people talk about their families or what they did on the weekend unlike some gays I don't keep my mouth shut I tell everybody what me and my partner did on the weekend. People work with know I have a same sex partner. When there is a staff party where spouses are invited to go my life partner goes so verybody knows him, knows his name and knows he is my boyfriend. All my family knows I am gay and anybody that has a problem with it just has to deal with it. I always say that if people have a problem with my sexual orientation then F_ _K then! I know that is not nice but that is the way I feel about that, I feel very strongly about it, about being accepted for who and what I am so if people can't accept me the I don't need them in my life.
*hugs*

Much better than when I was younger. I accept who I am but have learned (from painful experience as an adult) that not everyone can be trusted or relied upon to support me when I discuss such things. Some of the worst people to confide in are those non-straights (even close friends) who are so unbelievably deep in the closet that they believe discussing my orientation might somehow clue people into their own which they keep secret. Believe me, I have had some absolutely bizarre experiences like that.

It's an interresting question, because honestly I don't even look at it differently most of the time. When I was coming out I thought the world would end, and now it's just....Life. I'm very successful in my work, I have the same relationship issues as anyone else, I have the same family issues as anyone else, and normally unless I'm hit on by a woman, It's rare for me to even tell someone I'm gay. I'm just me. Happy with who I am.

I'm very comfortable with it, it's other people that have a problem with it. I'm completely out to my family and friends, some who have turned their backs on me, but it's their loss not mine. The only person who doesn't know is my grandson, but he's not old enough yet. I'll tell him when the time is right.

i'm still in the process of figuring out what my orientation is..

33 years of thinking i was straight was actually confusing..

realizing that i am bi has been a wonderful relief! but i feel i have to actually act out these feelings with a man to see for sure if i really am interest in love, romance, and sex with a man.

I've got a long way to go, but I'm a lot more comfortable now than I was in high school.

I'm getting there. Not quite yet though. But I'm out of the closet. Sometimes you have to be thrown out of the closet to start accepting who you are.
