I like jonh mayer, jack johnson, bob dylan, and others. I enjoy finding new artists, specially if they are not commercially known. I am also picky about lyrics, they have to be meaningful and pleasant. I am open to many genres, except heavy metal. If you have any ideas let me know and please be specific, thank you.

Considering what you list as good music.I think you would enjoy the Neutral Milk Hotel , Jon Butler Trio, Olivia Tremor Control, the Decemberists, and the Apples in Stereo. I would highly recommend "The aeroplane over the sea" by the "Neutral Milk Hotel" as a starter; For more information go to allmusic.com.Lastly you may wish to type to check the "Similar Artists" section of all music.com. Enjoy

Okay, I would say that you should look for the older stuff instead and find the roots of what you like. For example, John Mayer is HUGELY influenced by many of the Great old time blues guys, as was Bob Dylan.

Also, try the John Butler Trio.

I would like to suggest a disc jockey originally broadcasted from 101.9 in /Detroit (from Wayne State) and now in Ann Arbor, MI> His name is Martin Bandyke and he introduced me to more new music than anyone. He plays and likes all kinds of genres and is worth checking out.
