as long as you can keep down pre-natal vitamins, you should be okay. i am 6 months along, and still puking every day. my dr says that as long as you are getting the right nutrients, and enough food to sustain yourself, you should be okay. what's cordial? i always thought that was an alcohol, which would not be a good thing to have. by the way, ask your dr for a prescription for phenergan. it's an anti-nausea and vomiting pill that is safe to take when you are pregnant. it knocks me out, so don't take it before you go to work, but it really does help.

It can. Think of it this way-your body takes the few nutrients out of what you can eat, is anything left for the baby? Probably not if biscuits is all you can keep down. I had this also and got dehydrated, which makes you unable to keep anything down. Go to your doctor and see if you are dehydrated. They can also give you something for the nausea. I was extremely wary of the anti-nauseant at first, but after research realized that it would not affect the baby and would help in the long run. Things with real peppermint oil can act as an antinauseant for short periods of time also. Hope this helps.

Since you're so deathly ill, you should speak with your doctor. They can give you some medicine that will help you not puke everything up.
In the mean time, we all feel like we don't eat enough or well enough during the first few months of our baby's life. My step-sister literally threw up every single day for the first 3 months. I only threw up once a week, but I felt horrible every day. It didn't matter what time of day it was, I'd start eating and have to stop because I felt like I was going to puke. I didn't gain any weight during the first 4 1/2 months because of this.
As long as you're taking your pre-natal vitamins (not on an empty stomach!!) and eating as much as your body allows, the baby should be fine. Again, since you're throwing up so much, speak with your doctor--they can give you something to help!

Ask your doctor for a prescription of Phenergan or Promethazine - my doctor had to prescribe it for me for severe morning sickness.
Also take your prenatals with a small evening meal. That might help out a little bit, and try to stick with clear liquids. If you drink anything carbonated - pour it into a glass first to let some of the air out. The carbonated gas can irritate the stomach making the nausea worse.

Try eating really really small meals as I am sure you are doing. Make sure you are drinking plenty of water and taking your prenatal vitamins. If your vitamins make you sick try taking them right before you go to sleep. These are not poor eating habits giving that you are pregnant, it will not affect your baby. Congrats

Because you are pregnant you should be seeing a doctor. He should be able to counsel you as to your problem.
