Well I work in the Public Administration department on campus but what we tell students is that if you want to specifically study a subject then declare that concentration but if you like general courses, then take the broad major. So basically, if you really want to do something in Marketing, then stick with that. If you just like different aspects of Business then get a degree in BA. You can also just start off doing BA and if you find out that you wanted to do Marketing later on, then you can just do a change of major form through your department and that way, you already have some courses out of the way. Good luck with that!

Marketing, business administration and finance(given by another answer) are somewhat specialized. If you want a good general degree for business, economics is a good way to go. Not only does it cover all of these areas (although not as in depth) it also gives you a mindset that is attractive to employers.

Of the two I would say Business Admin. You should also consider accounting or finance because they are the most in demand right now.

I did marketing- and it was fun!
Finance gives you the most career choices without an MBA.
