Boy, CRT computer screens must be before your time, CRT meaning "Cathode Ray Tube". An anode emitter at the back of the tube fires electrons towards the cathode, which is a fine mesh screen which collects the electrons. A lot of vacuum tubes have anodes and cathodes in them, the anodes being the emitters and cathodes being the collectors. As a matter of fact, I'm reading these words on a Cathode Ray Tube, dating back to days of Flash Gordon, I guess?
