Consciousness itself isn't 't responsible for the existence of the universe. I believe the universe is here whether or not we are conscious or unconscious.

If I were to black out at this very moment the- universe would still exist.

Yes, I totally can imagine that. I have a very strong inclination toward solipsism. I don't buy in to much, but it is sort of easy for me to believe that I am the only real person and everything that I know as reality is an extension of my consciousness... You for example are one of my teachers :)
