My PS3 works fine, sony put out a list of PS1 and PS2 games that might not work right with the PS3. Maybe thats what you've been hearing about? I think you can find it on their website

A lot of the problems are probably falsely told by Nintendo and 360 fanboys.

Just like last year, a lot of the 360's problems were probably false, and most of them were made up by Sony and Nintendo fanboys.

The acceptable limit for hardware failure is about 3-5%, so you really have to be unlucky to be that 3 to 5 people out of 100 people. Some people even claimed to have 2 faulty 360s. What are the odds of that happening? Very rare.

I've had it since launch and no problems whatsoever.

I've had one for 2 months. Not a problem. Some people are having problems with their PS2 Games. I haven't tried to play any PS2 games on the PS3 yet. But keep that in mind.
