Your esteem is high but not too high you believe you're beautiful in your own way but you're feeling ugly tonight. You're getting a makeover tomorrow.

Is this normal?

It is normal to have self-doubts and fluctuation in self-esteem. A true optimist (not a pie in the sky thinker) will acknowledge these feelings and make adjustments as necessary. What we must do is to have positive self-talk with ourselves.

I also subscribe to the ideas of Dr. Susan Jeffers. She believes there are two types of thinking. There is somebody thinking and everybody thinking. Somebody thinking is based on trying to make yourself somebody. It is based on fear and lack. It focuses on the externals and places those before character. If you make little self-talk comments that you are ugly, that you have a zit, that you are putting on weight, or you find yourself thinking negative things about others, "She shouldn't wear that!" etc., then that is the "chatter box" that comes from the "lower self" and comes out of the somebody training. Somebody thinking kills the ability to truly connect with yourself and others because you see everyone as competitors and enemies, rather than people who share the same troubles.

Everybody thinking is concerned about the things we all share in common and is based on the highest good of all. Competition is eliminated since everyone realizes that everyone is really in the same boat and that we are all co-sufferers in life. However, victim thinking is not a part of everybody thinking. Victim thinking is a way of proving worth (making excuses to get others to like us), so that means it is based out of somebody thinking. Everybody thinking is based on the concept that there are no strangers, only friends we have never met.

I would recommend Dr. Jeffers' materials to anyone who is struggling with their feelings of self-worth, or anyone who has difficulty connecting with themselves and others.

You are very normal. Don't allow negative thoughts about yourself.
Thoughts are a lot like birds flying over your head, you can choose the ones you want to land, and let the others just fly on by.

it's "normal" to feel ugly sometimes...it's usually just something to do with the mood you're in.

If you didn't feel so ugly, you wouldn't look so beautiful.
