It is all fiction. Heather, Michael, and Josh are all alive and well. It was mostly ad-libbed so that it had a more realistic feel to it.

An intresting side note is that at the premier, the 3 stars were not allowed to go, in order to give it more of an impression of reality. As if they could not be there, because they really were missing. Also, instead of movie posters put up all over during the premier, they put of missing posters.

That movie was 100% fake...

Actually, I never did understand what the big deal was about it in the first place. I remember going to see it at the theatre with a friend, and it literally bored us so bad, we just left.

I do know people who were all freaked out by it though... so I guess to each their own in that way. But in answer to your question, no it is not real.

It's fake, it is a move, if is fictional. THere never was a blair witch project event, it was all marketing.

It was just a movie, not a documentary. The people in it are still alive. Afterward they made the rounds on the talk show circuit. The plot and lines were largely improvised, to give it a more realistic feel.

It was pretty much fake. And the people in the first one really got screwed over in the sequel. They hardly got any money for it.

The movie was a movie. Those were actors. They were really camping but they didn't know what was going to happen. Every morning they received instructions on what will happen during the day and what they should do. So, it wasn't scripted, but they were acting.

It is just a fine piece of movie making, but what is called a mockumentary (a mock or fake documentary)
