I've kept a variety of snakes (including ball pythons) and the best I can say is there's no definite answer to this one! She may be willing to eat now (or not). You don't say how big your snake is, or how long you've had her. If she's new, it may take a while. When balls are stressed (as in moving to a new enclosure), I've had them take from 2 days to 4 months to eat. What's important is that she's not losing weight rapidly. Do you live where it's getting cold this time of year? I've had pythons that wouldn't eat from November to April, but also had one that ate best this time of year. The authors of "The Ball Python Manual" (Vosjoli and Klingenberg, Barker, & Barker) list two reports of balls that didn't eat for 22 months! So, two and a half weeks isn't all that long (for a mature snake). Be patient.

It sould be the environment. If the temps are right she should not go off feed in the winter, only breeding snakes tdo that because they get dropped temps at night. So are the temps and humididty right? Are you using two thermometers (or a temp. gun) with probes and a digi hygrometer? The dial things suck and don't give the right readings.
Is something stressful happening? Music playing?
Are you feeding the right size prey? It should be as think as teh thickest part of the snake. If you overfed last time it might just be taking awhile for the food to digest so she doens't want any more. If you are trying to feed too small prey ait might be waiting for a=somthing bigger.
Try taking a frozen mouse or rat and thaw it. Once it is thawed put it in a plastic bag and soak it in the bag in hot (not scalding) water for 2 min. and use snake feeding tongs do dangle it in front of the snake. If the snake starts loosing weight take it too a vet.

Depending on the age of your python she may not eat due to mating season, and if the weather is cold she may not eat. Normally Pythons hibernate during the winter so she may not eat! My Python hasn't eaten in almost four weeks now. I talked to this Python breeder and that's what she told me! If she doesn't eat after three months take her to a vet and see if she is sick. Also during this time period, you can offer her a favorite food at night time every other week or so. When was the last time she was shedding... They normally don't eat during that time period!

I have lots of experience with pythons and boas. Make sure you have a large soaking bowl for the snake. Spray cage down at least twice daily. Soak in bath tub if need be. Once all shedding is done, the next day should be OK for feeding. Your snake can easily go four weeks if need be to get this troublesome shedding problem fixed. Make sure you keep humidity up and spray cage regularly to promote quick and healthy sheds. Any more questions please let me know. Thank you.

hi there
give her a day or 2 and then try ... if she doesn't eat keep trying .. till she does some ball refuse prekill or frozen ... if so try a live one ...it also depends on the age it breeding season and most adults will go through a shut down period during the cold weather ... hope this helps...

I would give it a try now. If it doesn't eat kill the mouse and freeze it then you can thaw it out when she moults fully. It could be another month.
