I am required to wear a suit at my office, but on Fridays they allow casual attire. perferably I like being dressed up It makes me feel more confident, more respected and succesful. While everyone else is wearing plain dress shirts and pants and I am in a suit they always make a big deal out of it, but I just don't see what the big deal is.

i think that is perfectly ok. if you feel more comfortable in a suit then wear it, it doesnt matter.

Dress anyway you like if that's what makes you comfortable, but keep in mind some of your coworkers might think you're either snotty, stuck up, a kiss ***, or think you're better than everyone else by being the only one that dresses up on fridays. If you're ok with that, then by all means do so. For the most part you shouldn't care what your coworkers think though, if they already like you, it wouldn't change their mind because of the way you dress, but if they don't like you, it will just be another thing they talk about behind your back, but hey, if they already dislike you then, what's the difference.

What you can do is downplay the suit just a bit and go in for business casual. Why not wear a nice pair of slacks, the button-down shirt and the tie, but leave the suit pants and jacket at home?

It all depends on who "they" is and why they're giving you a hard time. If management is doing it, you might want to adhere to their policies. If it's just coworkers, then keep doing what you're doing :)

Dress the way you want, but try not to be tooooo cocky. I'm sure you look great. I, however, don't have the time to iron and worry about it for that one more day every week. I LOVE casual Friday, just not when it becomes too casual.
