Is it really safe?? Can a person get argyria from topical use? The sites I have found make it seem a little scary.

The only way you can get argyria is to ingest (drink) excess amounts of CS. I have been taking around a teaspoon a day for over a year with no ill effects. Topically, it's completely harmless.

I've never heard of using colloidal silver on top of the skin. To tell you the truth I seriously doubt it will have any effect. The ratio of silver to water is sooooo great that it seems almost impossible to get a reaction. Most people swollow colloidal silver for colds or flu. I tried it a few years ago and had no results from using it. It's one of those things that will work if your body really needs it. But as a general remedy cure, I wouldn't place any bets on it.

I completely agree with Peachy - topical CS is completely harmless and argyria is possible ONLY by taking very large oral doses.

Topical use can be helpful to reduce bacteria/fungi on the skin, as NO bacteria can survive in the presense of CS (assuming they actually come into contact with it).

The reason traditional remedies like this are pooh poohed by medicine is that they effectively treat and prevent disease, so reducing the needs for expensive, dangerous drugs!

Colloidal silver is dangerous!

If you take too much; it can turn your skin gray; and when that happens; it is permanent.

Avoid colloidal silver like the plague.

It's fine. I use a product called "silvercure" - you can read about it at molluscum.com . Great stuff!
