Not in this day and age. Do you read the news? If so did you see the article about the two teenagers who were kidnapped by the Pizza Parlor manager in St. Louis? One of them had been held for four and a half years. There are flyers in the mail every day about a teenager missing from home. Boy or girl doesn't matter. There's safety in numbers.

It depends on what kind of neighborhood you live in. Where we live it is relatively quiet, most of the people around here are in their 50s or older and generally keep to themselves. If you live in a heavily populated area, or a place where he/she could possibly get into trouble then no. My cousin was attacked and raped when she was 17. The place she was walking wasn't particularly out of the ordinary. It was a mid sized town and she was walking from a friends house to her father's house. There were no scary dark alleys, no shadowy places to hide. It was just her faith in the good nature of people that caused her not to worry when he started walking behind her. You never know what to expect. I would just be careful.

Yes, assuming that it's not a neighbourhood overrun with the unemployed, drug addicts, criminals, etc. It's very unlikely that someone dangerous would be lurking around a suburban neighbourhood waiting for a teenaged person to come out for a walk alone:P

ask yourself...do you just her/him. what is he/she doing when she is out. I would have trusted my children out that late when they were 13..most likely more in the summer. I had wonder communication with my kids and alot of trust and respect..it goes both ways remember.
