Respect

Honor is a word of deep meaning and should not be used lightly in conversation or in writing.

The highest level of recognition given by the United States of America to a member of the military services is the Congressional Medal of Honor (CMOH). It is usually awarded posthumously. This is the case because the recipient usually loses their life in the action that qualifies them to be nominated for the CMOH.

Considering the gravity of the above information, my definition of "Honor" is:

To be dedicated to a cause or to others to the extent that one will sacrifice their life for their belief in that cause or for their love of others who are depending on them to stand and deliver.

Honour to me is when you do the right thing, even if its hard or there's an easier way out. I heard that the difference between a samurai and a ninja is that a ninja would have no problem creeping up behind you and slitting your throat, whereas a samurai will fight you honourably by staging a fair battle so that the the most skilled warrior will prevail, even if he dies, he dies with honour.
