You can't actually remove any program icon from the system tray, but you can set an option to always hide it. Right click on Start, select Properties, and then click on the Taskbar Tab. At the bottom of that page click on Customize and a new page with a list of system tray icons will appear. Scroll down to the item you wish to configure and then click on the right side to highlight and activate the chooses there. You have three: Always Show, Always Hide and Show When Active.

This is the only way to control the icons in the System Tray. Now, just make sure you want an icon in the System Tray whenever a new program is installed, as you are usually given a choice while installing. Just look around and you should see the option.

Good luck and have a great evening!

Hmmmm, I believe that an up-to-date anti-virus program should remove it. Scan your entire system. Yeah, its a baddie.
