My friend is moving to a different state in June. How does he start the process, and when? How can he get an apartment without a job? How can he get a job without an address? What should the order of business be from now until moving time, and once he moves? Need help!

The first order of business would be to find an apartment. It's really difficult to get a job, etc. without one. Though if he doesn't have one for a while, he can use a friend's or his parent's address when applying for jobs, but to specify his living situation and make sure he has a local phone number where he can be contacted.

When he finally does have an apartment, the next order would be to information the post office of his current address and to have all his mail forwarded there. Then inform businesses, banks, family, and companies he may receive bills from about his address change.

Hope this provides some help!

Man your friend is puttin his cart in front of his horse. You got to box everything 1st. He can not get an apt with out an income. U can get a job w/o an address. He has 2 find a gig 1st. U got to do a mail change, U got 2 have a place 2 change it 2. Ur talkin June, so He needs to go to that state & find a job. At the least get on line & see what is available there, cost of living, find an apt locator's. He needs 2 slow down make a list & get it together before he moves. Sounds 2 m like there's no plan at all. Best of luck 2 him.

Get a job now, save money for an apartment, then in April, start looking for another job where he is living. In May, sign a lease for June, and start working immediately. If he can't find a job, go to the supermarket or something to hold him over until he finds something. He will need at least $1000. For rent and deposits. Electric deposit is usually around $200. Look for a six month lease, that way if he finds a roommate, he can move after six months.

He needs to get a job before he moves, then he can use his address now. If he gets an apartment first, he probably will have to give a larger than normal security deposit - a lot of people move (retired) who don't work.
