of course I use to listen to music when I had homework or studied although I hardly studied in high school tome it was a waste of my time and I did just fine on the tests

Personally, I find it highly distracting if there's much noise in the background while I'm studying or writing papers or reading. That's not to say other people are the same, though. If I'm not mistaken, I believe there have been some studies where students got better grades if they had classical music playing in the background.

In any case, my advice would be to try it and see.

It depends on what kind of people are you. Some of them must listen to music during studies to relax and calm their mind whilst studying and yet some might dislike music during their learning because they feel annoying and couldn't concentrate on. So, it can be a good and bad too.

that really depends on what kind of learner you are/ what kind of brain you have. I, personally, love to listen to music while i study, but can't concentrate if the song has words. I'll start singing along.

im studying for exams too.
it really depends on who you are and how you function.
for me i can do it as long as its not reading like a book or something
if im answering problems or stuff like that, i find it easier and more relaxing to listen to music. =]
