The easy question first--yeah, that clear gunk is discharge. It's normal, and it's okay, although sometimes it'll be white or yellow if you have a yeast infection. As for when you'll get your period...that one's a little harder. It really varies from girl to girl--some girls don't get it until they're 18 or 19, others get it when they're younger than you. I think the average is around 13 or 14, so you're getting close. I started mine in the 7th grade. Honestly, it's not really anything to look forward to--enjoy not having it while you can.

Sounds like you are well on your way. All young women are different, but genes do play a role. A lot also depends on your level of activity, such as sports. Sometimes, when a young lady is very active in sports, this wil delay her mensus. Sometimes, it even causes an actively menstruating female to stop.
Don't be overly concerned about starting your period. It really is an aggravation, and once you do start, you keep it up for years, then one day, you start having night sweats and hot flashes and then your periods stop. Women get all the "raw deals" in life, reproductively, except the fact that we are the one's that bear the children.
If you are really concerned, ask your mother to make you an appointment for a check-up with your doctor. He/She can put your mind to rest that you are progressing normally.

Aren't you in for an interesting time ahead. Don't be so worried about it. A sign that it is coming is a severe change in hormones - that results in severe changes in your emotional behavior. Burstintg into tears for no reason at all - your mother should pick up on this. You are not your mother - do not expect to start your period at the same time. You might start yours earlier or later. You just won't really know until then - try to enjoy life without it. Once it comes it stays for a LONG time - it's not bad, just...necessary.

Considering your body has begun puberty, my guess would be that your menstrual cycle will begin when you are around thirteen years old. But there is no way of knowing for sure, which is often what makes the whole ordeal so stressful. To answer your other question, the "slime" that you're seeing could be discharge, but it could also be your bodies natural way of lubricating your vagina. Don't worry though, you're period will come soon enough.

yes the ''slime'' would be discharge.
theres no way to know what age u will get ur period.
even by asking ur mom about hers.
i got mine when i was eleven,
my sister did when she was 12,
but my mom was SIXTEEN.
so theres no way of knowing.

YOU COULD START ANYTIME. TRY NOT TO WORRY ABOUT IT. WHEN YOU GET IT YOU WILL NOT WANT IT SO BAD. YES IT IS PROBABLY DISCHARGE.
