i think that the main power that exists in all aspects of everyone's lives is the power that a society exerts to reinforce social norms.

certain things in each culture are uniquely a part of that culture.

people can't go about in public nude due to social norms that state this, also they would get arrested.

most social norms aren't quite this obvious, but you get the idea - there is no part of any culture that is exempt from this.
