Why do people assume teenagers don't understand?

We may do stupid things but we are pretty smart. There are spoiled kids who don't understand things sometimes. But I can say that the majority of kids or teenagers, don't take their lives forgranted. Do you? Or your kids?

Well, just some people. Mostly adults.

Teenagers.with few,if any acceptions, think they know what life is about-been there,done that,messed up. It takes time to gain wisdom, mostly through experience. Provers in the bible is known as the book of wisdom and aimed a great deal at young people,mainly males-I get annoyed it almost makes females sound like they are the cause of guys messing up because we "allure" them into wrongdoing (.i.e. sexual lust)!

wisdom does come with age and experience and that is why adults assume teens aren't too smart about a lot of things.
Example-who has most driving accidents talking on cellphones? duh (yes,I know business people abuse doing that too but they have experience enough to keep their minds on their driving while teens can get so sidetracked as with a lot of other of their peers in cars.

Believe me, there is not an adult who did not, as a teen,think they understood or knew it all so we know how you feel when we treat you as less than smart enough to cope/understand certtain things. another example that sets me off is teen binge drinking! It has killed a good many teens who thought it harmless-is that smart? Is that understanding the human body-there again,knowledge of how it works leads to wisdom which means-treat it right. Ok,so adults have become obese because they didn't have brains enough,smarts, to not eat junk. So, we too lack smarts in some areas-how about -we are all rowing the same boat at times.
