Most kids are cute when they are 2 and 3, and yes, as they get into thier 4-5-6 ages, they can become bratty and spolied. You don't have to like/love anyone you don't want to, but I really suggest taking a chill pill and stop tripping her and such. You are old enough to know better, she isn't. If it really bugs you that much, talk to her parents and yours and tell them how you feel. Maybe they can talk to her or just make it so you don't have to see each other for a while. Remember, she is just a child.

geeze thats pretty mean, at first ithought you were talking about a child that you had. Im not particularly fond of my sister in laws daughter. Shes a spoiled brat and gets her way all the time and shes only 5. Her older brother who is 11 gets yelled at every single night and hit and gets nothing. She has more toys than a toy store and talks like shes 25... "dont make me come get you", crys if she doesnt get her way and sasses her parents like crazy, now saying all this doesnt make me want to kill her. Just know that i dont want my daughter to turn out like that. Use her as an example and remember what you dont like about her and when you have kids you'll know what you dont want them to do and to teach them not to.

Apparently, they expect HER to be friends with a little child as well. I wonder how many people found YOU irritating when you were 5. I hope 10 years down the road you realize what a selfish twerp you are being right now. You could be a role model and encourage her to straighten out, but instead you're making her worse with your example.

A five year old can be a brat. But a 16 year old who trips a 5 year old is a bully at best!

Well, I'm sure deep down you still love her, you just don't like her. About liking her, you 16, little kids are going to get seriously under skin, it's almost like she's a little sister with the age difference.

like and love are two different things. like is an automatic reaction. love is a verb. u can still utterly dislike ur niece & still love her at teh same time, love her as in want the best for her & want her to be happy even if u dont like her anymore... if u cant do that then the love u had for her when she was sweet..was conditional..the condition was that she was still young and sweet.

Stay away from her. You are dangerous. You already sound as if you are psycho. She is just a little 5 year old girl.
