recently while using the restroom i have been having this problem and i would like to know what cause it to come out dark(black)?

Dark-colored stools in medical parlance is called melena. It represents decomposed blood pigment (hemoglobin) and is NEVER normal. You should have yourself checked because it can be some internal polyps bleeding or some blood disorder. Now if you have diarrhea on top of that, it may be a more serious condition. Go see your doctor ASAP.

I am no MD but really dark is sometimes a sign of blood in the stool. I hope not.
Sometimes alot of dark greens in the diet will cause it but if it happens tomorrow and you have not eaten any greens, You should see the Dr.

most likely whatever you are taking for your "runs" is causing the black stuff, for instance pepto bismol will cause you to have black stool.
