I am thinking of the 'Emily' books by L.M. Montgomery. if i remember correctly there is a type of ghost story in them or she has a special gift or something. I am trying to remember. If you have read the books can you explain it. I haven't read them in years so....

There isn't really a ghost story, but Emily is slighly psychic. While in a fever she insists an old well be checked and it is discovered that her best friend's mother did not run away (as was suspected) but she had fallen in the well!

Also, she appears to Teddy (the man she eventually marries) when he is in Europe and leads him away from a ship which then sinks.

There are a couple more examples, but I can't think of them off the top of my head. Guess I'll have to re-read them soon!

(L. M. Montgomery did write a collection of ghost stories, though, called "Among the Shadows.")

Some other instances of her "flashes" are when she finds the lost diamond that everyone had searched for years.

In the second book when she and Ilse are travelling together there is a lost boy who cannot be found and she locates him with her vision.

In the first book she is locked in a building (church?) and the crazy guy thinks Emily is his lost fiancee and she calls Teddy's name and he comes. That's not quite her "flash", but similar.
