He shot a brotha who was on his side and this brotha helped him alot in the past, so he shot him in the throat instead of shooting his hand or the gun he had? I come to a conclusion Jack Bauer hates black people, he chose to kill him then just shoot the guys gun or hand.

First of all, why do you persist on stirring this sort of thing up? Second, if you had watched the show closely, you would have noticed that the FBI guy was behind the other guy (head on one side, hand and gun on the other). Two shot choices, in specialty training you learn that the hand reacts to extreme trauma differently than you would think. If he had shot his gun hand he would have caused the fingers to contract and thus shooting the guy he's trying to save or the bullet could have ricochet and hit the guy anyway. Nerves in the neck, chest and head will cause the release of tension in the extremities. Under the circumstances, he did what he was trained to do. That's why it affected him so. It was his friend, but his duty came above everything else. Something that is engrained into you if you choose to be part of such a select group. A reaction, like if you fall you put your hands out in front of you. It's part of his training. One more thing....It's a damn TV show!! Lighten up!

Shooting someones gun hand only happens on TV, or the movies, and is not a viable option to remove a threat.
He is acting a script, and is not a real person.

I don't know what you are talking about, but if someone is pointing a gun at you, then yeah you should shoot them before they shoot you, and you always aim for the chest as it's the largest target.
