If he loves you..he'll pop that question..you won't have to MAKE him.

If you only met 6 months ago and he was here for how long visiting? Have you kept up communications with him? Do you have a lot in common with each other? Is he good with children and does he want children? The two of you really need to talk about these things AND is he looking for a wife?

Why would you want to "get him" to pop the question? If he doesn't want to what good is forcing him to? Get real. At 38 you should know that forcing any man to try and do something he has no intention of doing, is wrong.

If he is 56 and has never married, statistically, he isn't going to. You might get lucky with him though. Drop hints that you want to get married. Start asking him about his plans for your future together.

He's 56 and never married? Don't hold your breath...he's probably not someone you want to marry...at that age, having been single all his life, chances are he wouldn't mesh well into a living situation with someone else (unless he'd had long term live together relationships before).

He's apparently what they used to refer to as "not the marrying type"

sit down ask him if u are someone he could see spending his life with in marriage, if not why? just be honest tell him how u feel about him, got to tell him u truly love him. ask him where he sees himself in 5 years from now, what his dreams for his future are, and if he ever wants to marry. just be sincere and honest ask for what u want from him, if u never ask u can't get. good luck, if he refuses u, give it some time, and ask again. as one no doesn't mean he will never marry u.

Tell him how you feel about him. Tell him you think he's special and you would enjoy spending the rest of your life with him.

If he's interested, let him take it from there. Otherwise you will just have to be happy with the relationship as it is -- or move on.

Look, you don't have to spend you time making a grand plot to lead him into popping the question to you. You can hint him and yourself almost to death. You can propose to him, and if you really want him to be your husband you would. Propose to him, make it official, and have him get the ring after.

Are you serious ? Are you sure you want to marry this man ? Do you even know very much about this man ?

Maybe at his age, he is not looking to start a family and raise children. All he wants is a relationship with a woman.

You can't make a man do something that he doesn't want to do.
You can suggest that you get married. After that it is up to him.
