it depends on why they have custody and how long they have had it for. With more info I could help you with some advice..Although, without knowing more details it is really hard to say

You don't provide enough info here to be given a good answer. This being as why have you lost custody of your children? I mean was it because of drugs or abuse,? If there was some valid reason where you don't deserve the kid/s because of abuse or drugs or where you put the safety well being of the kid/s in danger then you may not be able to regain custody. I know a girl who left her daughter with the father and she got into a truck and went to Florida. Well she was suppose to come back for the kid and was gone for like 4 months. She NEVER regained custody. The kid then was like 3 or 4 years old. The kid is now like 12 years old. She sees her daughter but will never have custody. It was ruled that she had abandoned the kid by leaving the state. So it really comes down to why you lost custody in the first place. Good Luck.

obviously there is a reason why they have them and you don't the only way they can adopt them is if they can prove you are an unfit mother i had a friend in the same situation but the people who had custody of her children had to wait for 4 years before they could adopt them. decide what is best for your children and if they are better off with you fight like hell to get them back.

It really all hinges on why you lost them to begin with and how well you could support them now. Get a lawyer, press for custody, that really is all that can be done. I don't think the answers will change no matter how many times you ask this. You just need to take legal action and make sure you can prove that you're a fit mother.

Adoption cannot take place unless parental rights are terminated. That I can tell you. Were the placed there by CPS(or whatever agency in your area handles abused children and the sort)? If so, have you complied with what CPS asked you to do? There are a lot of questions that would have to be answered to get an accurate answer.
