Id like opinions on where to live, we have 2 young children,.........Black Diamond, Maple Valley??? all answers apperciated!!!!

There are some pretty undesirable neighborhoods in the east hill of Kent. The city center is nice if you like the more modern feel, Covington and Black Diamond are nice as well. Depends too in part to where you will be commuting for work. I assume if you are moving from Wisconsin you are doing so because of employment opportunities. If you are still looking at wanting some land, then Black Diamond and Covington are both great for that. There are a lot of the modern big home, small lot communities mixed in with older homes as well. Good luck. I hope you like Washington as much as most people who live here do.

I agree with the above poster about Covington. There are some very nice areas down in the City of Kent but beware of the areas of extremely cheap rent. If it seems too good to be true, with this area, it normally is.
Puyallup isn't too far from Kent (at least in my transplanted Californian mind) and it's not to bad either! My husband and I are considering Covington and Puyallup as a possiblity for a move from No. Seattle.

In the Kent area there is a city called Covington (Previously a part of Kent but they are trying to break off) Covington is a new area with lots of things to do and places to eat. Covington is also in the middle of great elementary, Jr. High, and Two amazing high schools (Kentwood and Kentlake) Black diamond also ties in with Covington ..school district wise. Look for homes or apartments in the "98042" zip code and you will be pleased :) Its a great area and is going to get even more better!

Kent is very spotty and some areas have allot of crime.
Maple Valley is a better option if you want the small town atmosphere with no crime. If you need further info let me know, I am a Real Estate agent. It also depends where you plan to work because commute times here are terrible. Thanks.

I would love to tell you about another family community you should consider.....Snoqualmie Ridge. I have lived in Washington for 25 years and can not say enough about our master planned community. It is about 10 miles north of Black Diamond and Maple Valley. We have been here for about two and a half years and are SO happy. It is beautiful and close to many things! You must check it out!
