If your system is custom built, any SATA cable should work fine. However, if it's a brand name computer (like my Dell XPS 400), the drive itself may be positioned in a way that you may need an L shaped SATA cable in order for it to fit properly in your case. Some OEM drives such as Seagate's will work best with latching cables. I bought mine from SATACABLES.com and did pretty well. I needed the L shaped latching cable.
