i have about 2 dozen feeder fish in a 10 gallon tank, i just put like 2 tablespoonfuls of aquarium salt in it, (the box of salt said 1 tablesponon per 5 gallons) i just put the salt in like 6 hours ago, so how long will it take the feeder fish to be disease free?


(i need some info on breeding minnows to plz, or any websites)

Aquarium salt doesnt make a fish disease free. ...unless of course your treating for ick. Some types of fish like the salt in the water, and it helps with parasite control. When you do water changes you can put in 1tsp per gallon of water. If you already have ick, then you can raise tank temp,(80-82 degrees) and do extra salt to help kill off the parasite when they are actually free swimming in the water. Do your goldfish have a disease your trying to get rid of? Need more info..

They will be disease free when all visible signs have been gone for 1 week.

you are doing a salt bath on fresh water fish. it is an in and out . you dip and take them out. this will kill any parosite on your fish but not any fungus. if you leve you fish in the salt to long you will have dead fish. you can do the same for saltwater fish just put them in fresh water.as for your minnows go to www.fishpondinfo.com/rosies.htm i think will help you.

Aquarium salt does not cure illness. It can help along with meds to cure faster and helps to prevent sickness.
