i'm 13 and i love; Britney Spears, Avril Lavigne, Kelly Clarkson, Joss Stone, the girl from Black Eyed Peas, Jessica Simpson, and more. i can sing really good, but my mom says that i could never be like any of them. do you think a girl from the backwoods of montana could become someone like them?

Of course you could. What you need to do is keep up practicing. Practicing everyday. Also, those people you mentioned started off doing whatever they could to showcase their talent such as participating in Talent Shows and competitions, and performing at State and County Fairs. Get yourself out there and let people see what you've got. I don't think you should be thinking about an agent right now because you haven't really got any experience behind you to convince an agent they should take the time. Prove yourself as being really serious about this and then search for someone (an agent) to help assist you in taking additional steps in directions you may feel unsure about.

Sure she can. Don't ever let anyone tell you that you can't do something. Everyone has to have a dream and no one has the right to crush them. You hold on to it and pursue that dream.
