A-Rod. You cant go wrong drafting any of those 3 (I would add Soriano to that mix, especially now) but the reason I would pick A-Rod first is because 1st base is a much deeper position than 3rd so the odds of scoring a top 3rd base bat in the 3rd or 4th round is much worse than getting a great 1st base stick. Always play the percentages and draft based on available depth, get the weakest positions filled as quickly as possible. The scraps usually suck at 3rd, catcher and SS (although the young depth at SS is getting much better).

Pujols. He is consistent in so many things: RBI, Avg, HR, OBP, and I know its the not most important stat for fantasy and some leagues don't have it, but I think he finished 3rd in the NL in least amount of errors at 1B.
A-Rod all though he did have a pretty good year, isn't the same as his MVP year for the Yanks. While he does have lots of oppurtunities for RBI's in that lineup, he just isn't the same in New York. Besides, Pujols finishes ahead of him in many many stats.
Howard gets RBI's and HR's, but thats it. A #1 pick should provide their owner with at least 3 good stats, and Howard gives 2. It's pretty easy to draft home runs in the 2nd and 3rd rounds, but it is very hard to get a Pujols-like player that provides in numerous stats. And again, I don't know if your league has it, Howard does commit some errors because let's be honest, he's a big boy that ain't the most agile guy on the field. And don't get me wrong, he's a good player, but I think his season was sort of a fluke.
So, take Pujols. GO WHITE SOX

First pick: Fantasy Wise I would always go with Pujols. Pujols has good Runs 2nd best HR and tops on RBI's Average is good and will get you a couple of steals. Also has decent protection.
A rod is great but he will not have as good of Rbi's but will have more steals ( i would put him at # 2 )
My number 3 would be Soriano. He is now at a hitters park with more Rbi opps along with his normal 40 40 type season. Cant beat that.
And lastly Howard. He is awsome but he will not get as many runs. Will do good on Rbi's and Homers but wont get you any steals and will not get you a above 300 average.
Go with Pujols

Howard. Young and healthy. Pujols still puts up the numbers but he seems to be breaking down. A Rod has too much talent around him Howard is a star among mediocres so he will stand out. I myself would take Soriano first. He is too talented and excels in every stat.

As much as I would like to say Howard, because I think he's a stud... I have to go with Pujols. He's always consistent whereas Arod has been somewhat on the downfall lately with the fans in New York constantly on his *** to perform. Plus Howard was at the magic age of 27 last year, so it may have been a one-year fluke.

its been answered so many times already its albert pujols anythign else would be uncivilized. he was robbed of mvp of the league and also mvp of the world series. ryan howard WILL NOT have a year this year like he did last year. and a rod is way to inconsistent.

Pujols, definitely. A-Rod and Howard can't touch him - he is the best player in baseball, bar none.
