Well if it takes ddr2/533 then just buy some and install it. It will work so long as that's what the pc takes. This will be a little cheaper than crucial.

But what about the video card? The Ram is used to be able to have more apps open at the same time and to boost up the system. What you really have to care about is the video card. This is the responsible to make a game or HD video to work as it should. Nvidia cards are perfect. Intel HD cards are good but not good enough. If you say that the problem appears when trying to play 1080p videos, it's because you may have an Itel HD card. On the other hand, laptops don't allow to change the CPU nor the graphic card (because they come welded to the mother board). You can only change the HDD and the Ram. You can try adding more Ram, but I can asure that that won't boost up your graphics performance.

Call Gateway and see what is the max of ram you can use. Some computers can only use so much and if you put more ram in it is a waste of money.

Go to pcworld.com for you answers. I read to buy namebrand cuz the namebrand sell their rejects, the then other companies will sell them as new.

Go to www.crucial.com and enter in your model and ti will tell you whaty memory you need and how much your system can take. If you are unsrue or your model, it can even detech what your system has.

You do not have to buy the memory there, it is just a good place to get info.

This place will show u what you need and will offer it at an incredibly low price. if you don't believe how low it is, you can go to a store and check out the price. either way, it'll specify what you need.
