Apparently knowing my address, social security, mother's maiden name, date of birth is not enough anymore. Now they want to know:
what sport team i was on
what high school i graduated from
who my pets are

I think it is a conspiracy

Not a conspiracy, something to do with marketing demographics. The more they know about your lifestyle, they can target "spam" that you may actually be interested in.

Address, social security, mother's maiden name, date of birth
Gee it's all they need to get into your bank accounts and get credit cards.....better not give all that info....asking too much is too suspicious.
Especially social and maiden names.
