Yes. They are fantastic. I ate until I felt like bursting at the seams...then I ate a little bit more! They had to roll me out of there.

We have a couple of these restaurants in Colorado. Texas de Brazil and Rodizio Grill. Both are the concept that you mention. I produce a radio restaurant show and these restaurants come up on our show occasionally. I have eaten at Rodizio Grill. It was ok, but I'm not a big red meat eater, so I probably am not the best judge. I wasn't that impressed with the salad bar that you go to before the meat starts arriving at your table. Waiters come by with different types of meat on skewers and you choose what you want. A couple of the Rodizio Grills here have closed, so I take that as a good indication that they were not doing enough business to stay open, which tells you something. Texas de Brazil has gotten more positive comments on the show, but I myself haven't eaten there.

I think it is the type of restaurant that is great to go to for a special occasion and just to try it once. But certainly not the kind of place that I think most people would patronize regularly.

Hope this helps.

These places are called a "Churrascaria". There are a bunch of them in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Some of the ones we have here have restuarants in other areas of the country. One chain is called "Texas De Brazil" and the other one is "Fogo De Chao".

Both of them are absolutely delicious.

When I have been, the meats were fabulous and very tender and tasted incredibly good.

They both have extraordinary salad bars featuring things you would never see at a salad bar somewhere like 'golden corral'. The things I liked (at the salad bar) were the marinated mushrooms, smoked salmon with capers, fresh blackberries, and the anti-pasta meats and veggies.

They also both serve small fresh nuggets of bread that are native South American cuisine (it's served in other countries). They are delicious and have a kind of very, very mild dry cheese blended into the flour prior to cooking.

If you are wondering if they are worth the money, my answer would be "hell yes"!!! Don't miss it!!!
If you are thinking it's just too much but you still want to try it, they usually offer a much lower priced lunch option which is really not scaled down that much compared to dinner. It's still all you can eat, and still fabulous, it's just that the demand is not there for a big lunch crowd in most places.

No but there is a place like that outside of Washington D.C. I've heard really good things about it and plan to check it out in the future. They have a token that sits on your table. When you want more food you place one side up and the other side if you don't want any more food.
