when you touch the strings does the buzz stop or start? It should stop.

Are u using single coils or humbuckers. Single coils hum a lot through the amp. Humbuckers cancel out any hum.

Perhaps you have a short circuit in the wiring. There might be some contact between the grounding/shielding and the vol/tone pots or switch. Depending on your guitar.

Open it up and check it out. Don't leave it too long or you could fry a pickup. Like I did :)

Good luck.

Hmmm... sounds to me like you blew a speaker, dude. If you don't get the hum or buzz any other time but when you're playing, and if it does not need distortion to happen, that could be it. Does it rumble a bit more on bass notes? If so, you've got a speaker needs replacing in your amplifier.

Check the amp with headphones. If it sounds fine in the headphones, but goes strange sounding through the speaker, that is definitely it.

On the other hand, if it is buzzy in the headphones, too, then the others have suggested things you can look at.

Some of the possibilities are a defective cord from guitar ot amp,bad grounding in the guitar body,or a bad audio output circuit in the amp. Hope this helps.
