In what state has the youngest legal age you can drop out of school?

Thanks.

why would you want to drop out, or similarly let one of your friends do the same. A high school education is the most basic form (and easiest to attain) in this country. Without it you basically amount to nothing and only the most basic and low-paying of jobs (think fast food work) would hire you. Now New Jersey has a dropout age of 16 and I believe in some of the MidWest states the dropout age might be unofficially lower.

Texas is 16 with parental consent, 17 without parental consent. In Texas though, if you are not in school, as in dropped out, you cannot get your driver's license until you turn 18.

I went to HS in Georgia, and they had the same thing in place.
