It wasn't really mass nor was it complete. There was plenty of fighting change. Also some of the change waz bad. Dying of drugs. I know people who are now partially brain dead from the LSD they did in the past. With every movment there was change made and in some way the pendilum swings a bit to far in to unreality.
We can flash the peace sign and say...Make love not war. And we can try going over to the middle east and try hold hands and sing KUMBIYA LORD KUMBYA. It an't gonna happen!
I am a child of the 60's I had hair past my waist. I saw the good and the bad in that era. and I have fond memories of that era that inspired change.
Throughout history there has been movments demanding change and revolition. Look at Stalin etc.
No era is exactually the same but the secnerio is similar.
Mankind will repeat history over and over again. Hopefully we will learn lessons along the way.
There definatly was something about the 60-70's that was special. Gosh, I was in the store the other day and saw styles I would of worn back in teh 60's..........but the young women looking at the styles don't have an ounce of understanding what it takes for our country to be free and entitled.
The music rocked and it is timeless.
yes, my children still call me an old hippie ;)

It is on the horizon! I don't believe it will entail all the same principles that the era you speak of did though. There is a revolution that in some ways has already began; the beginning of the end and the knowledge of the Truth of God. I truly believe the Lord is gathering true worshipers to usher in His decension, that is in the near future, and with the number 7 being the number of completion in biblical terms, this year has the potential, with the present prevailance of faith over means in cultures around the world in either good or evil senses, for a major upheaval in the way civilization progresses to its inevitable end. I'm not saying the End is here, but now is the time I believe where we all will see attitudes, actions, policies, and peoples divide to either one of two sides: those waiting on Heaven and those who striving to evolve and progress.

Yes. However, what we saw in the 60's was not a complete revolution, it was simply evolution to which some people paid attention.
Some day there probably will be another music group who will have as much impact on music as did The Beatles or an individual like Beethoven or Mozart.
I hope I'm still alive to see such a thing when it happens.

I am hoping for just that. Its sickening the way people are all so like sheep now days, all following each other and whatever the latest trends are, obsessed with beauty etc. Its pathetic that there has not been some sort of movement especially with the way the world is now.. all the wars... the horrifying state of the environment.. we need a frigging revolution.

what was so complete? we had a war that killed 60,000 americans. Yes, MLK and the equality thing got in gear, but other than that, you had a bunch of drug-using hippies not being productive members of society. The decade ended with a big rock concert and we ended up spending the 70's embarrassed by Nixon and Vietnam. Other than that it was great!!!

One can hope.. the '60's weren't about fads.. or music.. it was sort of an awakening from a dark age of depression & war.. but then of course it was derailed when the syndicate of corporate.. military/industry (don't forget the CIA).. murdered JFK.. RFK & MLK..
I think this country is beyond ever redeeming though.. too bad.. America is destined to 2nd.. then maybe 3rd world status eventually..

Maybe. Some don't want to repeat the history again. Some want a newest fad that doesn't remind their parent of their past. A few will want to preserve Woodstock for historical reason or others.

It stands to reason that there probably will be at some point, the more people get fed up with their lifestyle, the more likely they will be to rebel against it, and I think that a lot of people are getting fed up with the outdatedness (is that even a word?) of some of our "social norms"

Maybe, you never know. I'd say Culture is radically changed since 1997, what with 9/11, iPods, the Internet, Bush, al Qaeda, etc.....
Lots of radical things have taken place in the past decade....
