Lol..Tanker...you're taking it too literally. I am a very optimistic person...you may want to try too be a bit more constructive in your criticism next time. Or at least have some shred of knowledge of a person before you start to belittle them....

Maybe I'm strange, but I always pretend I'm a superhero and I try to overcome any adversity the same way a human would so that the humans don't find out about me. I know it's a stupid psych trick, but it helps me deal.

I find the question you are asking is really silly. "In times of adversity." Do you find yourself to be martyr for just living life?
Life & living is a package deal and if you don't deal with "LIFE" you might as well kill yourself. There are no guarantees in this life except for death and taxes. I myself, am thankful for every Sunrise and for every Sunset the Lord grants everyday with every challenge that comes with "LIVING." I hope that answers your question.
