I am curious about the actual name used by spelunkers.

I know it as "flowstone". The technical term for cave deposits are "speleothems", of which flowstone is just one type. Others include the better-known stalctites and stalagmites. Flowstone is fromed from calcite or aragonite deposits that precipitate out of water flowing across a surface. If you have never seen one, they are quite beautiful.

It is a type of travertine most commonly known as "Flowstone". Other possibilities are "Curtains", "cave bacon", and "rimstone dams"
