At 8 weeks of pregnancy, the placenta and fetus have been developing for 6 weeks. The placenta forms tiny hairlike projections (villi) that extend into the wall of the uterus. Blood vessels from the embryo, which pass through the umbilical cord to the placenta, develop in the villi. A thin membrane separates the embryo's blood in the villi from the mother's blood that flows through the space surrounding the villi (intervillous space). This arrangement allows materials to be exchanged between the blood of the mother and that of the embryo.

The embryo floats in fluid (amniotic fluid), which is contained in a sac (amniotic sac). The amniotic fluid provides a space in which the embryo can grow freely. The fluid also helps protect the embryo from injury. The amniotic sac is strong and resilient.

There is alot of action going on inside you...give it some room to grow! Begin looking in the maternity department of stores or look online...see the search source below (second):

You could be just really bloated and full, just as you said you feel. Or, even though you've gained no weight, you could be growing around the midsection. You might want to try some maternity clothing just so your belly doesn't feel so smooched.

Don't worry about what people say or think about wearing maternity clothes, it's none of their business. The best thing is that you feel comfortable and not like you are going to pop the buttons off your pants.

yes i stayed bloated very much. so much that at times i looked like i was 4 or 5 months pregnant when i was only like 2 and 3 months along. cutting back on gassy foods (like brocolli and beans) can help to an extent. i just wore leisure pants (pants like the ones with babygirl etc across the butt all though i don't buy the ones with stuff written on the butt lol) a lot during that time. they have elastic waists and they are comfy anyway. plus they are cute when you buy the outfits that have the matching jackets with the pants. it's an awkward time until you are big enough for maternity clothes. comfort was more important to me during my pregnancies than how cute i was.

Absolutely. I have not gained any weight and I can't fit in my regular clothes either. You might try a small hair tie to go around your button, wrapped around your button hole around you button again. This gives you a little more time to keep in them. I am 11 weeks and feel that way. I noticed at 8 weeks as well. I have not gained even an ounce but there is alot of water weight as well. Also, maternity clothes are wonderful things and they are really cute as well.

Its actually very common, even as early as 2 weeks after conception. Your feeling is probably correct. you probably are bloated, with extra fluid that is collecting to protect and nurture your baby. and its possible that your abdomen is actually a little swollen, because when you are pregnant, your body redirects much more of your blood flow to your belly, and the sudden change of blood volume can cause the tissues to swell. It might go away, but it might not. try warm (but not hot) heating pads on your stomach, a warm (but not hot) bath, or just the opposite-- cold compresses. it might help discomfort. So can Tylenol, but be sure to ask your doc before taking any kind of medicine, even if it doesnt warn you to on the label. Also, reduce your salt intake, and increase your fiber intake. I hope this helps!!

I did too and thankfully they make maternity jeans that look completely normal but have a little 5 inch band in the back that you can adjust. I know how weird it is to tell someone you are wearing maternity clothes at only a few weeks but the bloating just sucks!! good luck!!

When I am pregnant I start showing immediately. It must be my body type but I had to wear prego clothes early on. The second pregnancy I only gained 15 total but it sure didn't look like it. I was huge. I say embrace it. So you get to wear comfortable clothes longer than most. Plus, there won't be any doubt your pregnant so no one will have to ask. :-)

Whether you are truly showing or not enjoy it. Go get some really cute maternity clothes and start wearing them. I loved feeling "bloated" when I was pregnant. I loved getting my baby belly. Enjoy it cause it will be over so soon.

Every woman is different as is every pregnancy. If you are slender to begin with, you will most likely show more quickly... With my first child I showed around 4 months and was huge by the time I gave birth and now I am 36 weeks pregnant with my second child and people think I am lying when I tell them because of how small I am....

I was reading about this just today. For the first couple of months, if you feel your belly is bigger, it is more than likely just your intestines acting up and causing you to bloat. Unless, of course, you are eating way too much and gaining weight too fast.
