Has anyone had a problem with a front loading washing machine on the 2nd floor of their home?
I am considering getting a Whirlpool Duet GHW9400 or a LG Bromm SteamWash WM2487HRM. I have heard that putting a front load washer on the SECOND floor is not a good idea because of excessive vibration. (Front loading washers spin so fast that vibration can be a problem even if the machine is level.)
If you have had this problem and found a way to resolve it, can you let me know what worked for you? Thanks

I don't care if I can hear it from another room. I am worried it may shake the whole house or crack the ceiling of the room below it.

use some sort of rupper pad under each leg to absorb the vibration. home depot sells a playground pad that is about 1 inch thick, that will cure the prob!!

Our washer vibrates when there is a small load, the load can become unbalanced. I don't think the problem is reserved to the second floor. You may also have to put a cushion of some sort under the washer.

Only time I heard of excessive vibration was due to someone overloading the washer. Also IMO id go with the LG, thats what is replacing my current broken washer now.
