What would you do or have you done to help the homeless?

Through my employer we have worked at the food bank, purchased gifts for homeless children residing in shelters. Every year I clean out all closets and donate clothing/coats/shoes to homeless shelters. Donated to those on corners.

Some people answering think they will never fall on hard times!! You never know what the future holds!! I have been blessed and while not rich, I am blessed and share with those who have less!!

I used to volunteer at Covenant House, a runaway shelter, doing intake interviews, meeting immediate needs (food, clothing, showers), and supervising outings for the kids. I also donate to local charities that provide transition help to the homeless, helping them help themselves get into jobs and housing.

I personally wouldnt do anything.............Yes i feel bad for the homeless but not too much to give to them what i WORKED hard for to get for myself.I feel nobody HAS to be homeless.Its what they choose.I was working a dead end low paying job and i still survived and had a roof over mine andmy kids heads.....food on the table.....and cloths on their backs.I mean they werent eating steaks and dressed in dolce &gabanna but they were tooken care of.If someone can say..."do you have some change" they can definetly say "hello,welcome to mcdonalds"

Nothing. I stay the hell away from them. I don't trust them one bit. They are either bitter to the point of dangerousness, or on drugs.
Sorry if I'm not being PC, but that's the way it is.

I try not to wake them when I step over them sleeping on the sidewalk.
