Select a subject, lost love, fun day, bad day, a memory and build a hook aroound it.

A hook is the part of a song that gets stuck in your head.

Build a good melody that compliments your lyrics and have fun. There is no wrong way or right way. Listen to lots of songs and read the lyrics. Also read what a lot of song writers are saying about their craft.

Find someone who has experience in writing songs that can give you advice. For future writing I would keep a journal to give you inspiration. You would be suprised, each entry could be a song in the making.
