Yes they do sleep but if there's a single rabbit they'll usually doze. In a larger group, where one can keep look out, you're more likely to see them go into a deep sleep.

As for play, they run around, binky, dig, chew, organise and toss things. My rabbits love to have newspaper to rip and shred. Sometimes I will make a 'castle' out of cardboard boxes with a few doors and windows cut in it. They spend weeks chewing new holes and playing around in there. I also give them old cardboard rolls and egg cartons to chew and rip, sets of baby keys and balls to toss and push around, lots of branches and rose cuttings to keep their teeth health, even seagrass mats to lay and chew on.

Really though, there's nothing quite like a nice, safe, open area to see a rabbit stretch it's legs and burn off some energy.

My rabbit used to love playing and running around pretending someone was chasing her, jumping to the side from time to time. She slept during the day not at night as rabbits are nocturnal. There are some rabbit proof toys at PetSmart, also fruit tree logs are good for chewing. Chewing is a rabbit's favorite past time along with eating of course.

the little baby bunnies i have are very entertaining and one is very active. they play together...the one does an amazing hop in the air and theyll run around chasing each other. sometimes the babies'll nudge each others butts (its weird but fascinating) also their nose and ears. and rest their head on the others body.
older rabbits who are not littermates can be aggressive indoors because that is where they get territorial. but we took the mom and her mate outside..and he starting chasing her, they were hopping around the yard.
but if there is only one rabbit, that rabbit will still have fun outside. will just run around exploring.
and all rabbits like to explore..digging, chewing, sniffing, tossing, climb, hide. the mama likes to tip the bowl over when she eats. its quite funny! oh and of course they love to hop/jump.
like the previous answers they are nocturnal animals. good thing i sometimes am too! cuz then i play with the baby bunnies at night..and they run all over the place. unlike the daytime which the two are relaxed and dont run as much
theyre like cats. even in the daytime they just rest..taking little naps.

they also like to be loved on when theyre not wanting to run around.

and im not sure if its for play but the other adult rabbit i have would "make her bed". id let her on my bed for a bit and shed smooth it out, dig it, chew it. try and get all the wrinkles out..it annoys the heck of me but its what she likes to do.

Rabbits sleep maybe 5 minutes a day, and you will hardly ever see it. They "doze," rest with their eyes open, for long periods.
Rabbits like to run around. Sometimes they like to throw small objects that they can pick up with their teeth. My rabbits used to play chase with my dogs; the dog would bark politely, and if the rabbit was in the mood, it would run. They like to chew paper and cardboard. They like to be held, if they are tame. I used to adapt a cat harness to fit my rabbit and take him for a walk. But a rabbit can snip a leash in two with its teeth, so I used a metal chain leash.

build a playarea out of logs/wooden crates/stick/twigs/strong small footballs. Anything that they can jump on or squeeze under they will love! As long as you keep moving it around, they will be entertained for hours! =]
