He said i should put him on that because they won't let him get away with not paying child support. Anyone with info?

well, the honor system doesnt work, thats for sure...thats why the states and federal government passed strict laws; they too are tired of deadbeat parents.

every state is different (slightly) about the guidelines, so you will need to:

1) call your child support caseworker and ask them what that is. if they dont know, ask the supervisor. if its in a different state, call that state's child support office and ask them.

you may need to go to court to request an action, if so, your caseworker should be able to tell you.

if your case worker (and their office) isnt on the ball, contact your regional Federal CS Office (link is below). write a letter; give them your contact info, case number and arrears amount. ask them what they are going to do about it. that should put some heat on your case.

2) if he owes a certain amount, he is put on a tax refund intercept (for state and federal refunds).

here are some links to help. one is a child support calculator; just click on your state and fill it in. the others you just click on your state and find the section you need (child support, visitation, custody, etc). the last few are to help you.

I haven't heard of that term, but I have heard that you can go back to court and have his wages garnished, also he will be held legally responsible when he doesn't pay, so they will put him in jail if he doesn't. Good luck!
