I saw lots of the old Minnesota North Stars games before they moved to Dallas and I've seen one Minnesota Wild game....the loudness isn't that bad!

My favorite hockey team is the Detroit Redwings. I have been going to hockey games since I was in junior high (local games first, then I had my first opportunity to go see a live Redwings game in 2002 - I have been to seven games since, and have seen two playoff games (awesome!). You don't have to worry much about the noise, it is the same as any other event where you have a lot of people, but definitely quieter than a concert. You leave feeling the ringing-stuffiness in your ears, but it's really not that bad. If you feel that the noise is bothering you, you can always walk into the hallway area during play, it is quieter there because everyone else is in the arena watching the game. Be sure not to get up from your seat until there is a break in play though (doesn't have to be between periods, just needs to be a stop in play) because it is rude to the other patrons, in fact, if you are close to the ice, they won't let you walk back to your seat until a break in play either. Overall, it is a FABULOUS experience, don't be worried, I am sure that you will have a great time!

The Leafs. I just came back from Detroit where I went to the Auto Show then to the Red Wings/Black Hawks game. I don't like either of those teams but I had a great time. The atmosphere at a hockey arena is second to none. I would suggest to go the game. If you thought that way you would never go on a roller coaster, never go to a rock concert etc. You are only young once. Go for it and have fun.

the san jose sharks are my favorite team, and yes I've been to many games, loud crowds are just part of the game of hockey, most hockey fans like to voice there opinion, my advise is to accept the fact that it's going to be loud, relax, and enjoy the game, hockey is an amazing sport, have fun

Take some earplugs with you in case, but it shouldn't be that bad.
I've seen the NHL's Senators play in Ottawa quite a few times. It's not that loud when you're in the midst of it.

Have also been to a lot of Junior Hockey games. The rinks tend to be colder there. So dress warmer. NHL rinks won't be any colder than sitting in your Living Room.

My favorite hockey team is the Pittsburgh Penguins. I didn't go to my first hockey game until April. They're AWESOME though. Just bring a hoodie or something with you cuz' it's sort of chilly in the arena (ice... go figure). It's loud, so be prepared to yell to the people beside you to talk to them, but you'll have a great time!

I'm a Canes fan, and the loudness is nothing to worry about, its just part of the experience. Go with it. I hope you have a blast at your first hockey game!!
