he won a golden globe but wasn't there to recieve it because of traffic. he came later and took a bow.

Prince was stuck in traffic that surrounded the area. Prince was nominated for Original Song for the animated movie Happy Feet. Justin Timberlake was presenting him with the award but since Prince was unexpectedly absent, Timberlake acceted the award on his behalf.

He wasn't there when he won the award.
Justin Timberlake announced the winner & then had to accept it also.
Prince arrived later due to traffic & Hugh Grant had him stand & acknowledge his win.
Looks like he could have gotten there on time.
Guess he wanted to make a "grand entrance".
Knowing he was nominated he could have put forth a better effect to get there on time.
It wasn't like he was one of the first couple of awards anyway.
He probably didn't think he'd win or he might have tried harder. :o)
