Why do people give thumbs down when there are really great answers is it because they are dumb and want to have the "best answer" or what?

they may not like the answer or probably want to make their answer look good compared to urs :)

I never give thumbs downs but I guess it makes them feel good or something. Oh well though, it doesn't take away any points when you get a thumbs down or anything like that, so I don't care...let them do what they will! :)

no, it is because they don't agree with the person's opinion. when i rant about bush, i tend to get quite a few thumbs down from his monkey worshippers =)
