GI Joe, Barbie...whatever that you won't let them get rid of? My son has so many GI Joes and he wants to give them away and I won't let him...he's 15 so definatly not playing with them but still...

To answer your question, no, I don't have a teenaged child with "a collection". But, if I did, I'd try my best to persuade him or her to keep it. I once had a collection of 45s, that included The Beatles and other collectibles.
I sold the entire collection to a bar, for their juke box,
and now kick myself in the proverbial butt for doing that.

Im 15 and I still have my collection of Harry Potter action figures and I wont give those up. Let him keep the GI joes he'll really apreciate them when he has kids and can show them to his kids

Im 16 and used to collect GI Joes all my life and now I have them stored away.
Dont get rid of them, they will soon become collectibles cause they stopped selling them in the stores, all they sell now are those cheap crappy ones.
He might want to get rid of them and if he does he will most likely regret it in the future.
Hang on to them for him.

Well I have this collection of Yu-Gi-Oh cards that I want to sell and my mom is saying "NO don't do that, you have so many and your brother msy want them. My brother is 18 and I am 15 :)

my mother wont let me get rid of my collectable barbies because theyre worst something but id rather give them to my cousins so they can put them to good use

Have him put them in a box and you stick them in the attic. You can tell him you got rid of them - whatever. They'll be a happy memory for him someday.
