Strictly speaking I'm a classic rock kind of girl, but I do like some country....only certain people though.....George Jones, Hank Williams, David Allen Coe, The Charlie Daniels Band, Johnny Cash, Merle Haggard....and Waylon Jennings is my favorite! Those are the only country singers I really like....who do you?

Wille Nelson, Johnny Cash and Hank Williams...that's enough country for me most of the time...but, I've been on this kick lately of finding more obscure country artists...let me suggest Townes Van Vandt, he wrote "Pancho and Lefty" that Willie did so well...he has like 20+ records...i just started diving in, find one of his mid 70's live discs. It's sad and mellow...real tear in your bear stuff....don't miss "waiting around to die"...heavy stuff!

Or Gram Parsons...a couple of great records...check out "Grievous Angel" a classic.

Im the same way as yourself. I enjoy hip hop, and rock with some classic rock thrown in and do not care for country EXCEPT older country singers when country was real and wasnt pop. My all time favorites would have to be Johnny Cash Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson. Those guys embodied what country music should have been. They never sold out for another dollar. They were true to themselves and their music. Long live the real outlaws

George Strait and Reba McIntire have both been at this for over 25 years, so I think they would qualify. I also love Merle Haggard's music. Lyrically, he's one of the best songwriters ever, and his delivery is pure country.
